Fresh from sunny Oz to grace the shores of the (not so sunny!) UK, comes an exciting and upbeat new act – singer/songwriter Dan Webb. Highly renowned for his lively stage presence, the 22 year old has already had much acclaimed success back home in Australia. Having headlined a national tour and performed at the popular 2011 St Kilda Festival (which was attended by 420,000 fans), and been the main support act for Conway Savage (Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds), Webb is quickly earning his place among the list of today’s rising stars.

His sound is hard to place into one specific genre, but is keyboard–driven, energetic, rock music. By ditching the electric guitars and hitting the keys, this maverick has given rock a delicious and original spin that is sure to excite the UK! Think Little Richard’s mastery of keys backed by Robert Plant’s vocals, but glazed with Webb’s own unique and modern style.

Having had a strong interest in music from a young age, Dan Webb was born to reach stardom. The musician’s first EP ‘Capitulation’ achieved great success and now Webb is back for more. Armed with an arsenal of new songs, he’ll be taking the UK along on his environmentally friendly journey to fame (Webb’s concern for the environment has driven him to proclaim this tour officially “carbon neutral”). Set to release a new four-track EP ‘Hyperspace Clearance’ (whose name was influenced from a love of The Hitchhiker’s Guide) on the 26th of September, Dan hopes to sweep the UK off its feet and have them rejoice in his guitar-less, off the wall music. And with the added plus of mastering by Steve Rooke (The Beatles, Animal Collective) of the legendary Abbey Road, this looks like a sure fire hit.

One of the first songs Webb ever wrote – upcoming single ‘Way Out’ is set to release the 5th of September, a tale of “lust and opportunities”, and is no doubt destined for greatness. Do not miss a chance to see Dan Webb live in concert for a night of full throttle energy and outrageous fun!

“‘Hyperspace Clearance’ is an inspiring showcase of Dan Webb’s talent and uniqueness, and deserves a listen (or five)”Fay Al-Janabi, The AU Review

“Webb has the ability to create catchy, alternative rock songs with the refreshing sound of keys… he’s among the top of my must see live list.”Sabi’s Aus Music Blog
